Too Wilde to Wed
Too Wilde to Wed is the second story in Ms. James’s highly addictive The Wildes of Lindow Castle series. In the second book we get the story of Lord Roland—also known as North—and Diana, the fiancée who jilted him. We know right away that when North goes to find her, he’s in for a huge surprise. Mainly because Diana is with child and North is most certainly not the father. We come to find out that the whole situation is a bit more complex than we originally thought. On top of the child drama, North is also battling his own mind from the war and everything he lost there. I’ll be the first to admit that I felt the story was a bit more underwhelming than it should have been. It started off very strong and then started dwindling more and more as the story went on. That isn’t to say that I didn’t love the characters because I did. James writes eloquently but I felt it was missing something. I do like the side characters and the set up for the next book, Born to Be Wilde, with Parth and Lavinia as front and center. In the end, I enjoyed and thought the book was entertaining enough but I wish it had more passion that would make me care more for the story as a whole.
