In His Keeping: A Slow Burn Novel

Ari is a twenty two year old finally getting an opportunity at independence in a world where she has spent her life sheltered from anyone and everything. Possessing the power of telekinesis, Ari has had to spend her life locked away in fear of having her abilities discovered by those looking to harness them for nefarious reasons. When her secret becomes public and her parents are kidnapped, she seeks out the help of Beau Devereaux, the head of a major security company, in order to save not only her parents’ lives, but her own as well. But as they begin to investigate her parents’ disappearance, they find Ari’s life has been one secret after another.

In His Keeping is an intriguing story of mystery, suspense, romance with a little bit of the paranormal thrown in. While the storyline is interesting, unfortunately it gets buried in the redundant use of the same ideas rehashed in nearly every chapter and an inner dialog of the characters that is over the top with angst. Fans of Banks will appreciate this one, however many will find the repeated themes and instalove between the characters a little hard to digest.
