Tunnel of Bones (City of Ghosts #2) (2)
Cassidy Blake’s parents are paranormal hunters with a television show. They just finished filming in Scotland, and Paris is next. Cass feels prepared, even ready, for her job as a ghost hunter, until she arrives in Paris. While visiting the Catacombs, where nearly six million bones were moved for burial, Cass feels the pressure of the Veil, where ghosts reside, but Jacob, her best friend and ghost, wants her to leave it alone. When a ghost threatens her safety by moving objects, Cass knows she is in over her head. She calls Lara, another ghost hunter from Scotland, but Lara has the worst possible news: this is more powerful than a ghost, and Cass will need a lot of help to return this spirit where it belongs.
Schwab’s characters are just so likable, and her plot so good without unnecessary romance or twisted plot lines. The dialogue between new friends and old is witty and quick, a delight to enjoy. Readers should be sure to pick up the first book, The City of Ghosts, to fully enjoy this second installment. With so many cities to explore for ghost stories, it won’t be long before Cass and Jacob are back.
