The Witch Who Came In From The Cold Season 2 Episode 3: “Old Game, New Players”
Power. Different forms are harbored in Prague these days, both magical and political. Some have it. Some don’t. Some want it. Some want more. Some want all. Who falls into which category is the focus these days. Edith is an enigma to Gabe in that he can’t put his finger on whether she is Flame, Ice, or just a CIA pain looking to dig up information. Terzian has much power as part of the Flame and has come into Prague to find out why things keep going awry for them and what is being done about it. Zerena and Sasha are fighting a silent but obvious tooth and nail battle to be the Flame operative that can handle Ice and the elementals in Prague. However, it seems that Zerena is one step ahead. Jordan’s bar is once again a source of interest but why is not 100% clear. Is it because of the clientele or the ley lines it is above? As all this is going on, someone new who is extremely powerful has arrived in Prague and their whereabouts and intentions are yet unknown. As another party at Zerena’s home is getting ready to bring all of our players together, one thing will be on everyone’s mind for sure: power.
The Witch Who Came In From the Cold takes on the importance of power in Episode Three and raises questions of how it will continue to affect the series as we continue to follow the characters on both sides who we have come to know so well. This episode has a lot of character interaction and information sharing and collecting by both parties. While not as action-packed as Episode One and previous episodes in Season One, it is obvious that everything is leading up to something big. Again, the writing is on-point and character interaction is realistic and suspicious, as would be expected in the situations in this episode. While I am looking forward to the action picking up again, this episode earns a solid four stars.
