The Brain’s Way of Healing: Remarkable Discoveries and Recoveries from the Frontiers of Neuroplasticity
As we leap into the Twenty-First Century, that strange, new word, “neuroplasticity,” keeps popping up. We see it on T.V., we read it in books, and now a book has been written about it. What is it? Is it here to stay? That’s what we shall learn in Doctor Norman Doidge,’s new book, The Brain’s Way of Healing.
For years, there was no way to build up brain function and effect healing like the rest of our bodies. What Doctor Doidge has uncovered is nothing short of miraculous. Dr. Doidge has revealed an abundance of source material to build upon: the Holy Grail of brain function, and resurrecting a brain to healthy status.
By presenting a M.D.’s point of view, we see solutions to the various ailments associated with brain study. The highlight of the book is delivered in Chapter 3: “The Stages of Neuroplastic Healing.” The author is able to explain quite convincingly how and why it works. At the end of the text, Dr. Doidge provides three appendices, each generating a different approach for sorting out brain problems including TBI, ADD, ADHA, epilepsy, and anxiety. This resourceful book is easy to read, and just what the doctor ordered.
