Star Wars Rebels Ezra’s Wookiee Rescue
A young man named Ezra plots to steal supplies from an Imperial crew, only to stumble into a raid by the Rebels and flee with them. With no time to spare, the Rebels bring Ezra along as they infiltrate an Imperial Star Destroyer to rescue a group of enslaved Wookiees. But all is not as it appears, and Ezra could be the team’s only hope.
Ezra’s Wookiee Rescue includes a CD you can play alongside the book. Nolan North’s narration is dynamic and charming, encouraging the reader following along. I found myself wanting to look forward a few pages while he was reading the current page. The music and sounds help immerse you in the story, but never overwhelm the actual reading experience.
I do wish the book was longer, simply because it went so fast. Not only do we spend little time with the Rebels — beyond their names, I can’t tell you much about them — I would’ve also loved deeper scenes with Ezra’s escape, the battles with the Imperials, and so on. I understand there’s only so much you can cram in, but I was left wanting more.
