Salvaged

Rosalyn, on the run from her old life, is a salvager. She gets sent in to clean up the mess left behind–basically, she’s a space janitor. She’s about to be fired when she asks for one last chance. She’s sent to salvage a ship that’s been a code blue for months, meaning the crew has been dead for a while. She heads in to clean up and hopefully bring the bodies back to the families, but when she gets there she discovers the crew is far from dead. They’ve all been infected with an alien parasite that controls them. Most of the crew is doing their best to fight off the effects, but they are losing their grip, and this parasite wants Rosalyn’s codes to take their ship towards more people so that they can join the cluster as well. Rosalyn and the crew will have to work together to defeat the parasite and see if humanity can be Salvaged.

Incredible book! Fast-paced, creepy space adventure with characters you are rooting for. This would be a very entertaining movie. The only thing that bothered me was that a pretty crucial story element was just glossed over. They are dealing with Angela and then they’re not, without any explanation of what happened. It also could have used more explanation about the parasite’s origins as well. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to those who love space exploration and the real, or imagined dangers, that come with.
