Quarry’s Cut
Quarry’s Cut is the fourth outing for hitman hero Quarry. His latest mission is one from the Broker’s list, but a personal mission. Hot on the heels of a former ally, Quarry finds himself on the set of an adult film shooting at a secluded winter lodge. Quarry befriends the director of the shoot in the hopes of keeping him safe until the ally shows his face. Bodies begin to stack up, but something isn’t right. The hits are sloppy and random. Snowbound and trapped, Quarry races to find the killer, stay alive, and get his cash.
Unlike last time, Quarry faces a sloppy killer. Unprofessional and reckless, both in his personal and professional life, Turner is a smarmy upstart that you can’t wait for Quarry to put in his pace. Collins spreads his wings with Quarry’s Cut.
This is a darkly comic romp that deftly combined sex and violence. Deliciously noir and humming with Quarry’s puns, the story sets up a seemingly straight forward revenge plot until things go awry and turn into an unusual murder mystery. A shocking ending caps this wonderfully indecent pulp thriller perfect for a beach read.
