My Girls: A Lifetime with Carrie and Debbie is the beautiful storytelling from Todd Fisher, Carrie Fisher’s brother, and Debbie Reynold’s son. With both women gone from this world, it is up to Todd to relive their moments, both the happy and the sad. Moments from his childhood through the end of both of their lives show the pure and true love in their relationship. The three of them were always a family-unit, especially since together, they were the most consistent part of their individual lives. Debbie always wanted to be a mother, and she succeeded as a loving, generous mother who didn’t cease to show her affection toward her children, and they were more than happy to reciprocate the feelings.

Todd’s writing appears to flow effortlessly, making each story in his life exciting to read about. Personally, it is satisfying to read of their faith and how the end of their lives was filled with prayers, despite their despair over the realization of the power the demons had in overtaking Carrie. My Girls does an appropriate job of showing how Debbie and Carrie were held in such high esteem in Todd’s life and gives the world an accurate depiction of the kind of people they really were out of the spotlight.
