Milo Imagines the World
One Sunday, Milo takes a train ride with his sister to visit his mom. He notices some people board the train and imagines their lives. Milo notices a woman in a wedding dress, and he imagines and draws her getting married in a grand cathedral and then riding off in a hot air balloon. A boy in a nice suit with brand new sneakers boards the train, and Milo imagines and draws the boy living in a castle with butlers and maids tending to him. He wonders what people imagine when they see his face. Do Milo’s imaginings prove to be correct?
Matt de La Pena and Christian Robinson work together on another heartwarming story here. What a surprising story this turned out to be! I was shocked by the ending of the story. I like how Milo is so curious and so imaginative about the people he meets. I also like how Milo likes to draw a lot. The art in the story is so vibrant and colorful. Milo is very cute in his bright green beanie and huge glasses. I recommend this book to any children who love books about art and imagination.
