Love Volume 2: The Fox
On an average day in an average forest, a fox hunts for her next meal, as do all other animals. But what happens when a normal day turns into an extraordinary day? When a volcano erupts, the natural order of all is disrupted, and animals will collide in unusual ways as they struggle to escape the molten lava and save those closest to them.
Readers who enjoy gorgeous, realistic artwork are in for a treat with the second in a series of wildlife graphic novels. Love: The Fox is, in a word, stunning. Simply stunning. This book, appropriate for readers of most ages (younger children might be bothered by the implied violence), depicts everyday life in a woodsy forest setting for the animals that dwell there. They run, fight, hunt, and otherwise act like the wild creatures they are, and author Frédéric Brrémaud and illustrator Federico Bertolucci don’t shy away from the more grim aspects of this life. Every page is depicted with gorgeous pictures, and readers will quickly pick up the simple story being told here, despite the lack of words. This is a beautiful book that will have readers looking for volume 1, as well as eagerly anticipating future editions.
