America’s favorite writer brings us a dark paranormal romance set in the lush hills of Ireland; a tale of witches and evil and a fight for power. It all began with Sorcha and Cabhan in the thirteenth century but it’s their ancestors who will try to end it generations and centuries later.

After hearing this story, Iona decides to drop everything to move to Ireland and seek out her cousins to see if she is the missing link needed to banish Cabhan and his evil from haunting her family. In Ireland, Iona finds many of the things she has been looking for her whole life, family, love, and a sense of purpose and belonging.

Nora Roberts has written the beginning of what could be another great trilogy, wonderful characters, a great setting, a wretched villain, and an engaging storyline. However, trying to incorporate the cadence and vocabulary of the Irish language made reading the book awkward and taxing since it was necessary to take breaks to figure out what the characters where saying as opposed to just being able to read at a nice steady pace. While this is a bit of a nuisance readers shouldn’t miss out on another solid offering from Nora Roberts.
