D (A Tale of Two Worlds): A Novel
Dhikilo is a young girl from the small independent nation of Somaliland, located within the country of Somalia. Few people know about and Dhikilo is pretty much used to this and not fitting in much with school and life in the little town of Cawber, close to the cliffs of Dover and the Channel. But suddenly the letter D disappears from the world and only Dhikilo seems to know it’s happened. Everyone around her talks with the “D” missing, then signs and places change with the “D” removed, and finally, things using the letter “D” like dogs start to disappear.
Fortunately, a history teacher Professor Dodderfield whom she thought dead is in fact alive and knows what’s going on. Dhikilo must go on an adventure to the wintry land of Liminus where there are many strange creatures and save and return the letter “D.”
Told in a whimsical style with hints of Narnia and Dickens, D is a fun fantasy story thirty-five years in the making that takes readers on an adventure into a world controlled by the monstrous Gamp. The book is unpredictable and nonstop fun, as the reader is kept hooked to the end of this strange tale.
