Unstuffed: Decluttering Your Home, Mind, and Soul
Ruth Soukup lovingly guides us away from the trap of accumulation and into a better way of life. Not only does she tackle the tangible stuff, but her tips for other problem areas of life are extremely helpful. She deals with guilt issues tied to giving up memorabilia and gifts we no longer use, time management as it pertains to people and social media, and identifying and prioritizing what is most important in our individual lives.
While many books on the subject of decluttering require mental calisthenics to understand and follow their instructions, Unstuffed provides practical and achievable tips. I speak from experience as a master clutter creator. Soukup offers both a “blast start” method with full instructions for a weekend challenge, as well as an incremental solution, which is the one I used. Within a couple of hours, a bookcase that had been near death because of its load was pared down and organized. This is a first for me. I also gained a little extra cash by selling the unwanted books. Win-win!
No matter what state your home or life is in, it is likely that Unstuffed will provide new insight and solutions.
