Sanctum Angels: Shadow Havens Book 1
Come into a world of fallen angels, Daemons, Weres, and Vamps as they learn to live on earth with the rest of society. How long they have existed is truly unknown, because back in the old days, people with certain powers or healing or of foreseeing were known to be burned at the stake as witches. In Sanctum, they create safe places for their kind to exist somewhat away from people, yet there are a few who are determined to live among the humans, such as Priana Grey, who is a fallen angel. She owns a bakery store and loves living among the humans and creating all types of beautiful food, soaps, oils, and all manners of useful products the humans love. But one day, she walks into a bank and her life changes forever. There, she meets a human cop, Joe, who after all that happens, she just cannot forget about, even though having a relationship with a human most always ends in disaster. Her step-brother, Keircnan, a beautiful angel, warns her repeatedly about this relationship, despite what is happening in his own life. He has met, and has fallen in love with, a part Daemon/part Vamp of a rival family. And it’s not just any girl from the rival family, but the princess of the one and only Sebastian, who is known to be ruthless and destructive. Sebastian has had a misfortunate life and, therefore, views humans with distastes and doesn’t feel bad about living off them and making profits off them. He’s helped to create a world of drugs, and ugliness and yet the angels who live at the Sanctum feel totally different and they try very hard not to harm a human life unless it is ultimately necessary.
So come along as you learn about the two rival families, what each of their abilities are, and their different views of living and surviving in the human world. You will love this read and be looking forward to the next book in the series and, thankfully, you get a brief intro into what will be coming next!
Chris Hayden has been working at City Book Review since 2012, so that makes him the keeper of knowledge. He manages the office and book reviewers (all 200 of them!), which is no small feat. If you’re looking at the book reviews here, you’re seeing them because he sent the books out for review. Without him, this place would fall apart, because no one else in the office knows how to use the postage machine. Two words: job security.
