Ronin Island Vol. 1
A Great Wind devastated the world in the Nineteenth Century especially affecting China, Korea, and Japan. Many people died and the world got cut off from one another to the point where people lived in their own worlds for a long time. Hana and Kenichi are too young to remember the devastation caused by the Great Wind. They live on Ronin Island with the other survivors. All they know is that the government fell and now they must survive on their own. One day a representative from the revived Shogunate comes to their island demanding they join the new group for a new threat is coming out of the devastation caused by the Great Wind that threatens them all.
This had potential to be really interesting and good, but often falls into clichés and feels uninteresting after a while as you like the characters less and less. Hana is the typical tomboy who wishes she could fight with the men, and Kenichi is fairly spineless and does not do anything to deserve what he gets as rewards. With a fairly clichéd zombie-like story and art that is hard to follow, this falls flat.
