Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Percy Jackson Coloring Book
As the coloring craze has captured both children and adults, many of our new favorite novels have been adapted to coloring books, to our delight. It was only a matter of time before one of our favorite characters, Percy Jackson, made his debut as an artistic rendering for our coloring pleasure. This coloring book follows the first tale, The Lightning Thief, and includes many of the images that were left out of the movie. (Hear that, St. Louis, Missouri!) The chronological re-telling not only includes the key scenes but also an illustration of each of the cabins from Camp Half-blood. Some scenes are complicated and intricate, while others are simple to give even the most dedicated coloring artist a break from such tedious but enjoyable work. Artists will enjoy bringing several of the gods to life, including Ares and Hades, and making the monsters, like the Minotaur and Medusa, jump off the page. Don’t expect the images to take after the movie – this coloring book is all about the first book and Riordan’s rich descriptions of the characters and places we’ve come to love. Many coloring artists will say, “Now, that is how I pictured it!”
