Lace One-Skein Wonders: 101 Projects Celebrating the Possibilities of Lace
For knitters, new knitting books invoke a feeling akin to that of a child’s glee on Christmas morning. Glossy, full-page photographs of delicate and lovely completed projects featured within those books merely fuel this sense of excitement. A book that focuses on using one skein, however, struck me as unique. Even more so is that this book arranges its patterns by yarn weight, making it far easier to find and chose a project that matches the yarn I happen to have on hand.
Fond of knitting lace-work socks, I found ample fodder for my need to knit in One Skein Wonders, and my daughters likewise found the book inspiring, often stealing it away to peruse while I was cooking or out in my garden. Among the colorful pages, there are projects for beginning, intermediate, and expert knitters alike, a nod to the fact that not all knitters operate at the same level.
