Good Night, Good Night: The original longer version of The Going to Bed Book
A group of animals, including an elephant, a rhinoceros, a hippo, two rabbits, a lion, and more, are on a boat in the middle of the water. It is time for bed. Everyone goes below for bath time. They all get into a big tub and scrub all over with soap in the bubble bath. Being well-behaved animals, they all hang their towels up and find their pajamas. Some pajamas are very big, some are very small. They all crowd around the sink and brush, brush, brush their teeth. Time to go up on the deck for their evening exercise. Back down below they go and climb into their big feather bed. The two rabbits sing a good-night song. They say good night, turn off the light, and let the water rock them to sleep.
Sandra Boynton’s signature drawings are sweet and silly and filled with fun little details. The text is spare and lyrical. The addition of the music and lyrics of the silly good-night song the rabbits sing is great. This expanded edition of The Going to Bed Book will be welcomed by a new generation of young families.
