The Witch Who Came In From The Cold Season 2 Episode 4: “Earth and Sale, Fire and Mercury”

When the power is flowing you know there is definitely a big bang in the future. It came in two forms. One was obvious to many both magical and common and came in the form of a burning building. To the naked eye, it was just a massive fire. To Gabe and Tanya, it was an obvious act of what they assume is the Flame. However, with a new unknown entity lurking around, they go and check on the Golem they captured in Season One to be sure he is still there. Good and bad news–he was. Now the ley lines pulse with fury. Gabe and Tanya are frantic to find out why while Zerena and the rest of the Flame members that have joined to capture loose elementals and know they are the cause of it all. Action needs to be taken by both sides but for different reasons, and the outcomes can spell success or disaster on either side.

Episode Four definitely brings back the action that is so important and paramount to this series. Magic is front and center in this episode despite the side stories involving other characters. While they may not have been front and center this episode, with all that happened you can count on them playing a part sooner or later. Gabe, Tanya, and Zerena are perhaps the best written characters because readers see sides of them emerging that they have not before. Where some have struggled to understand what is happening, it is obvious they are starting to put the pieces together. However, others who always seemed to have had the upper hand will fail and retreat into themselves to regroup. The twist at the end is also a genius hook. Looking forward to seeing the action continue. 5 out of 5 stars.
