The Memory Key
Meet Lora Mint, a teenager who suffers from the widespread, Alzheimer-like disease called Vergets disease. Thankfully, Lora can rely on her surgically implanted memory key which stores memories just like a normal, functioning brain would. However, one day, an accident causes damage to the memory key, giving Lora new memories that hadn’t existed before. The confused teen begins to remember details from the night her mom had mysteriously died- details that don’t correspond with what everyone had always said about her mother’s death. With the damaged memory key’s information, Lora fights to hold on to everything she can now remember about her mother. Lora embarks on her life-changing journey to unravel the secrets about her mother’s death, secrets that have been buried for years.
The Memory Key can be easily identified as a 5 star novel, and definitely deserves praise. Full of suspense, the enthralling story captivates readers who will look forward to joining Lora on her quest for answers. The novel has a very original, well thought-out plot with a variety of themes and moods that surface throughout the story. Liana Liu does an amazing job knitting various genres, from sci-fi to romance, into an absolutely great book. The Memory Key is sure to impress readers, and can be recommended with full confidence!
