Starfleet Logbook (Star Trek)
Every Star Trek fan has imagined attending Starfleet Academy at one time or another, learning the skills necessary to join a starship crew and explore the universe. Well, young fans of the franchise now have their chance withStarfleet Logbook an activity book and adventure log themed around the original series.
Within these pages, you’ll meet the characters, test your knowledge of alien races and creatures, cut out paper figures to play with, and solve mazes, puzzles, and other brain teasers centered around episodes or characters in the universe of the original series. (Although the Sudoku puzzle seems like weird filler compared to all the others, since they at least couch themselves in some sort of Star Trek gimmick.)
It is a little weird that the original series is getting an activity book geared toward kids, instead of the newer film franchise or the upcoming new television series, but I guess that just goes to show you the unexpected longevity of the franchise’s earliest days. I can imagine plenty of young fans using this book as a launch pad to some proper Star Trek-fueled make-believe.
