Sled Dog Dachshund
A dachshund and his family are going to watch a dog sled race. One of the dachshunds named Jasper wants to compete in the race, but no team will let him in. They think he’s too small. Eventually he gets in the sled, and it goes super-fast. Jasper helps his team in many ways. He barks when they’re slowing down and that picks up the pace. Since he’s such a long dog, he helps them win by reaching his nose across the finish line to win the race.
I like learning about the different kinds of dogs on the team, like the wheel dog and the lead dog. I like dachshunds; it’s one of my favorite kinds of dogs. They are so long and short. I like Jasper because he’s so excited about the race and he is so happy. I also love the pictures in this book. The snow streaks are going sideways, showing that they’re going really fast. In the picture of the race, some of the dogs are in mid-air because they are running. I like that because you get to see it. Also, in one of the pictures you can see all of the different colors of the team dogs. People who are interested in dogs will love this book and people who like sledding, too.
