Murder on the Toy Town Express: A Vintage Toyshop Mystery
In the second Vintage Toyshop Mystery, Liz McCall has found her place helping her father run his toyshop. Joining him for a weekend at the Train and Toy Show was supposed to be fun and games, until her business rival and former bully, Craig McFadden, falls to his death from the ceiling. When Liz and her father suspect this publicity stunt may have been murder, they dive into the investigation and uncover a connection to stolen comic books, secrets from Craig’s past, and the discovery that her father may have been the intended target.
Liz McCall is a delightfully sarcastic, strong-willed, and funny heroine, forming a wonderful crime-fighting duo with her father. They have a loving bond, punny banter, and a slight obsession with mysteries. It’s a quaint town (despite the murder) with gossip, parties, and game nights, giving it an old-fashioned feel. Romance is subtle throughout, mainly focusing on the love triangle as Liz makes a decision, and ends with a surprising twist. Murder on the Toy Town Express is charming and surprising, with a thrilling twist, humor, and heart.
