Winning the Money Game in College
Attending college is more expensive than ever, and who doesn’t want to know how to better afford it? Justin’s anticipated college funding source falls through, but he lucks into taking a money class, which teaches him such things as how to apply for scholarships, how to manage and track his finances, even how to avoid paying for his housing (legally!). Readers learn along with Justin through suggestions and warnings, and clear directions in each chapter.
This book is a great resource, and one in a series of books about college money matters. There are some jarring discontinuities where obviously parts of the story were broken out to put in other volumes (this one is “Finance”; others are “Business” and “Real Estate”), but it was easy enough to pick up over the story break. The writing is also a little stilted. But the story is definitely engaging, and it makes the principles tangible as you see their effects in Justin’s life. Readers will come away with excellent suggestions and perhaps even a plan to “Win the Money Game” themselves as they are anticipating paying for the college years.
