Whispering Dead (Gravekeeper, 1)
Keira wakes up in a forest to the sound of someone chasing and shooting at her. She takes refuge in a groundskeeper’s cottage at the edge of a cemetery. She can’t remember anything before waking up, but she soon discovers that she has the ability to see and communicate with ghosts. In this town, there are plenty of those, many of whom desperately need her help to move on. While Keira may not remember who she is, she knows she was sent here for a purpose and that is to help The Whispering Dead.
I absolutely love Darcy Coates. Her ghost stories are the best and while this is not the creepiest book of hers I’ve ever read, it is still a great addition to my Coates collection. Keira, Mason, and Zoe are fun characters that I look forward to getting to know even better as the series continues on. In fact, most of the characters in the town of Blighty, are people I am interested in knowing. These books are short, allowing you to get through them fairly quickly, which is also a downside since you have to wait even longer for the next one! I highly recommend this!
