Where Secrets Live

Where Secrets Live is a fantastic thriller written by S.C. Richards that begins with the main character, Elizabeth/Liz, and her cousin Fred finding Liz’s older sister, Meredith, murdered in her home. Liz will stop at nothing to find out who killed her sister. She feels guilty for not having that last conversation Meredith had wanted to have with her. Liz discovers her family has more secrets than she ever could have imagined. Meredith’s old high school boyfriend, Tom, comes into the picture as the lead investigator on the case, and although Liz gets in his way during the investigation, they treat one another as family and share in their grief.

This book had a lot of twists and turns but was easy to follow as the whole story was carried by Liz. Liz is a strong female character who does an excellent job of getting her hands dirty. In fact, she gets held at gunpoint and hit over the head many times throughout the book and keeps truckin’ on. As each secret unfolds, the reader will feel like they are closer to finding Meredith’s killer. It is not until the end, however, that all of the puzzle pieces full of deception, greed, and lust fit together.
