Where I Can See You
In Where I Can See You, Hud Matthews has returned home looking for answers in the disappearance of his mother that occurred when he was eight. Even though he’s a detective, he finds most people want the past to stay buried. That gets trickier when a woman is found murdered and more and more bodies begin to pile up. As Hud investigates, he has to decide how far he’s willing to go to get answers.
Even though this story centers around a broken, middle-aged man, I still very much enjoyed it. I don’t typically focus too much on details and scenery, caring more about the story, but Larry Sweazy did an amazing job. You could easily feel the town disintegrating around you. I found this to be a great crime novel that kept my interest piqued the entire time.
