We Lie Here: A Thriller
Another fantastic, on-the-edge-of-your-seat thriller by Rachel Howzell Hall, We Lie Here tells the story of a young woman named Yara who goes back to her hometown to help throw her parents, Barbara and Rob Gibson, an anniversary party. When Yara gets into town, however, she is contacted by a woman who claims to be her second cousin, a woman named Felicia. Felicia says that she has information that Yara should know about the family and asks Yara to meet her at a cabin. But what happens next, no one could predict. Felicia is found dead. Yara starts to become suspicious of what Felicia’s real motives are and, in doing so, digs deep into her family’s past. What she finds out throws her for a complete loop. On top of that, Yara feels like she is going crazy and misplacing things all the time-her glasses, a copy of Beloved, and her inhaler.
I absolutely love Rachel Howzell Hall’s ability to paint a vivid story with a beautiful setting and brilliant, sassy characters. This book will have its readers guessing until the very end. My jaw dropped at every twist and turn. A must-read for all fans of suspense novels.
