Very Important Corpses is the third installment in Simon R. Green’s Ishmeal Jones series. Even though this is part of a series, each book is a stand-alone case. This quick read is a cross between a cozy mystery and a supernatural haunting with beheadings and a lot of blood. Written as a dark noir, Green’s novel is not for the highbrow snob. This is more of a guilty pleasure. Green’s book is excellent for a quiet afternoon or a dark and stormy night.
