Life is so much more than eating, sleeping, and going to work. To live life to the fullest, one does not need a lot of money and luxurious things. One just has to take small and often simple steps in the right direction in order to live a good, full, and aware life. This is the message of Thrive, An Environmental Conscious Lifestyle Guide to Better Health and True Wealth. Throughout the book, the author provides readers with the tips and know-how to achieve that.

The book is divided into six parts. In the first part, “Smile,” the author focuses on having a healthy mind; the second chapter, “Revitalize,” focuses on the physical health of the body. In the third chapter, “Nourish,” the main focus is on food (i.e. feeding our body, but also taking care of our environment). The author touches upon environmental consciousness even more in part four, “Beautify,” and five, “Style.” In these two parts, the author is dealing with our choices in regards to beauty products and fashion – explaining how consumers’ choices have an effect on the environment. The author provides tips on how to take care of our bodies and the environment at the same time. In the sixth part, “Transform,” the author concludes with the well-being of traveling and gaining new experiences with some advice on how to thrive.

I find Thrive very interesting. For me, the book was not a life-changer, but I still learned a lot from it – especially about human impact on the environment via our fashion and beauty choices. Although the book is based on in-depth research and the author provides a list of references at the end of each part, it is easy to read. The author does not use big words or complicated solutions; on the contrary, this is a deep and informative read that I recommend.
