The Wise Pickle

The Wise Pickle by Sarah Howden is a very cute and silly book that will make children laugh. One day, a pickle appears out of nowhere. Several animals come and talk to the pickle, and he answers their questions. Then, one day, while waiting for a dog to eat him (his ideal end of life), a bird swoops down, scoops the pickle up, and tosses him into the sea (which is where he started in the first place—water—but with more garlic).

The story is simple enough for even the youngest readers and listeners to understand, and the illustrations are colorful and sweet.
