The Stripped-Down Guide to Content Marketing

We rated this book:

The Stripped-Down Guide to Content Marketing is a simple, short guide that will give newbies to content marketing a basic breakdown of what they need to know. The author, John Egan, mainly uses his work with LawnStarter as an example of how to create quality content and infographics to attract an audience. He also goes on to use large companies such as Tesla, Oracle, and Yeti as examples on how to build content marketing. Although it is obvious these big companies are successful, it would have been useful for the author to include smaller companies who do a good job with content marketing. I felt like the author went a bit off on a tangent talking about how he got on tv because this is far from what your everyday marketer gets to do. There were some fine bullet points that were given such as the explanation of pillar and non-pillar marketing, the difference between SEO and SEM, tools for creating a blueprint for content, and a list of avenues for sharing content that were very helpful, especially to someone just starting out. Overall, this is a great book to pick up and get your business’ content marketing off and running.
