The Sign of Four Spirits (A Sherlock Holmes Bookshop Mystery)
It’s summer in the idyllic town of West London, on Cape Cod, when the psychic faire comes to town, and brings with it some interesting characters. It also brings some extra business to the Sherlock Holmes Bookshop and Emporium and the adjoining Mrs. Hudson’s Tea Shop. Gemma Doyle runs the bookshop, and her powers of observation have given her quite the reputation in town. Gemma reluctantly attends a seance, and when one of the attendees is murdered, finds herself again at the center of a mystery. With a limited number of suspects you’d think it would be easy to find the killer, but since everyone has their own secrets it’s proving difficult indeed.
I love a good cozy, and this one definitely does not disappoint. I’ve read other books in this series, but they read well as stand alone novels. The author does a great job of catching the reader up, without being too repetitive. The characters are well written and I just love Gemma. The storyline kept me guessing until the end. You do not have to be well versed in Sherlock Holmes to enjoy this one, or any book in this series. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys cozies.
