The Seven Step Guide to Authorpreneurship
Geared for professional speaker and consultant authors, but adaptable to fiction writers, author Rochelle Carter walks you through the basic book marketing steps using today’s available tools. She recommends keeping focused on marketing while writing the book, and developing your own “Power Team” to help you through the marketing process. She then walks you through the many steps, and details of those steps, of what could be included in your marketing plan. Reading through the opportunities was overwhelming, but it was helpful to have them listed in one resource. Appendixes include a list of Book Reviewers; strategies for Book Promotional Sites, Fairs, Tradeshows, etc.; and Sample Letters and Templates. This brief compilation provides the best of resources available and gives authors the choices to create a marketing plan that works well for their personality, preferences, and market.
This book is a great introduction for the author that doesn’t know where to start. It was light on a broader and deeper understanding of marketing strategies to help decide what kind of marketing mix to use and how best to position the author/the book in the market, but the author assumes your Power Team would help you with those specifics.
