The Night Weaver has come to Shadow Grove. Multiple children have gone missing over the last few weeks and nobody is doing anything about it. Parents have turned into empty shells of themselves. Rachel Cleary and her neighbor, Mrs. Crenshaw, and her grandson Dougal seem to be the only ones unaffected and willing to solve this problem. The forest that borders their backyards seems to be the source of the problem, but it might also hold the solution. Rachel will stop at nothing to save those children. Saving the town and the rest of the adults is just an added bonus.

I didn’t know this was a book for young adults until I started reading, at which point it became very clear. The writing lacks some depth that you would find outside of this genre. However, that didn’t make the book unenjoyable. Sometimes, reading something simple is a nice breath of fresh air. I loved the faerie elements to this story, and Rachel was a fantastic female lead. She felt much older than her seventeen years, but being a guardian and having faced so much loss does tend to make children grow up faster than they should. If you enjoy YA books, especially featuring the supernatural, this is one to add to your reading list. This book is the first in a young adult series by Snyman and I look forward to reading the rest.
