The Night She Disappeared: A Novel

What happened The Night She Disappeared? Well, Tallulah was on a date with her boyfriend Zach, the first since the birth of their son a year ago. The three of them live with her mom, Kim, who gets worried when the pair aren’t home the next morning. Everyone thinks they have just run away to escape the responsibilities of being young parents, but Kim knows that Tallulah loves her son more than anything. A year later, a mystery writer moves into a cottage near where they disappeared and begins to find clues, allowing detectives to reopen the case. Kim begins to hope that she will see her daughter again and that her grandson will be reunited with his mother. What really happened that night will be far beyond what anyone imagined.

If you enjoy Lisa Jewell stories, then I’m sure you will love this one. Although it was definitely a story like none I’ve read before, I didn’t particularly enjoy it. I will give her credit, though, for coming up with a storyline that’s different from anything else out there currently. Tallulah and her mom are by far the best characters in the story, and these strong women make it worth the read.
