The Maze Cutter
With everything that happened in The Maze Runner series, and by the end of The Death Cure, you’d wonder if there’s anything more to have happen; spoiler alert – so much more! The Maze Cutter begins with Thomas making a discovery that boggles the mind. The reader is then shot forward seventy-three years to learn of new characters of various walks of life, from the seemingly common folk to members of the Godhead and others in between who belong to The Remnant Nation and crazy scientists, all across the apocalyptic nation. Life for them seems normal, but when a boat makes a surprise visit, and a visitor speaks of unspeakable things, it gets out of hand.
For fans of his earlier series, The Maze Cutter is the next logical read; for readers not familiar with Dashner’s newest series but are fans of apocalyptic themes, this book is the next best thing. Dashner’s writing and storytelling pick up from when he finished The Death Cure in 2011 as a true-life storyline does. There is a lot that goes on in his newest book, the reader needs to be prepared to pay attention to details in every chapter and subchapter of the story.
