For years, Ana has lived her life entirely within the boundaries of what will make her parents proud: good grades, extracurricular activities that will look good on college and scholarship applications, never breaks the rules. But all that is about to change one wild night when her little brother escapes the school Quiz Bowl tournament, and takes off for Washingcon, a comic book convention. Ana is desperate to find him, and bring him back before her parents find out, but the only person she has to help her is Zak… slacker and gamer, coerced onto the Quiz Bowl team to keep from failing an essential class. Together, Ana and Zak enter Washingcon for the night of their lives, and strangely, they discover they have more in common than they’d have ever believed.

This hilarious novel follows the two teenager’s adventures in a “con,” complete with card games, cosplaying, a SCA tournament, a nerd wedding, and so much more. This is all familiar territory for Zak, but Ana is completely out of her element. Yet, she manages to hold her own and then some. There are tons of geeky references scattered throughout the story, and the misadventures will have readers laughing and cringing by turns. And then there’s the romance between the two main characters, which just adds another layer of awesomeness to this book.
