The Glitch: A Novel
Shelley Stone is a woman who has overcome the odds. She was hit by lightning in her late teens and faced the strong possibility of death After recovery, she was determined not to miss any opportunity. She became one of the most powerful women in business, with a husband to die for and children worth bragging about. She has her life managed to the minute, a nanny who cares for her children like they are her own, and a career creating the Conch, a small personal management device. When a string of coincidences leads her to believe she’s met her younger self, she is excited for the opportunity to mold the younger Shelley Stone, but she soon wonders if there’s something sinister behind this serendipitous meeting.
Stone is the epitome of the working woman who is trying hard to succeed in a man’s world. Sometimes her choices are unpopular in the best interests of her business, and other times she seems downright callous and unfeeling. While at times her lack of interest in her family and her hyper focus on her job are less than believable, her growth throughout makes for a conclusion full of hope for both her and her family.
