Goethe, as he is known as, was one of the most prolific and well-known Germanic writer of the late 18th Century. Generally when people think of Goethe and his work, they think of his most famous work ever Faust, where a man makes a deal with the Devil, and then regrets it at the end; of the greatest morality plays ever written. This one volume collections brings us snippets of Goethe’s large oeuvre writings. It starts off with a selection of his poetry, and then goes into some of his plays, and then finishes off with a wide variety of essays, and pamphlets that he wrote over the years.
