When you first start reading The Charik, you’ll immediately notice a very unique writing style that often includes short sentences and even shorter dialogue. If you find it at all bothersome, stick with it until the story picks up pace and hopefully you’ll find it becomes almost rhythmic. Author Robert C. Wahl’s writing style could easily be compared to the likes of Tom Clancy with its wicked kick of thriller suspense. Wahl isn’t afraid to overstep the boundaries, writing in his own personal tone while giving readers a history lesson with all of the gruesome details and leaving them sitting on the edge of suspense. The Charik strings readers on a bit longer than normal, but consistently feeds just enough clues to keep them engaged with the story. It truly will leave you hanging right up to the end before divulging the truth.

While the cover doesn’t do the story justice, the strong storyline and personable characters will make you feel like you’ve known them forever. The Charik is easily a book that stands alone as unique, well written, and easily recommendable. Should you be on the prowl for a new mind-bending novel, look no further than The Charik. You won’t regret it.
