Star Wars: Thrawn Ascendancy (Book III: Lesser Evil) (Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy)
The Chiss Ascendancy has faced threats before, both from outside the families and within. The defeat of General Yiv and the Nikardun did not bring peace to the Chaos. Now Jixtus of the Grysk has allied with Generalirius Nakirre of the Kilji Illumine to try once again to defeat the Chiss. Admiral Ar’alani and the Expansionary Defense Fleet must stop the already fragile family relations from slipping into civil war. Meanwhile, Thrawn pledges to protect his people and the Ascendancy, no matter the cost.
Bestselling author Timothy Zahn is back with his sixth Thrawn novel and the third in his Ascendancy series, Star Wars: Thrawn: Lesser Evil. Once again, Thrawn is tasked with saving the Ascendancy while the powers within his own family try to take him down. Though this book is exciting, it is the third in a series and is best read in order. While shedding a little more light on the family dynamics and the politics of the Chiss, this novel still has plenty of dramatic battle scenes. Zahn also gives the reader more of a view into Thrawn’s past and a look at the strategic workings of his mind.
