Star Wars Insider has been the magazine of choice for Star Wars fans and fanatics for years and years, and the latest collection of articles from the magazine’s voluminous back catalog is sure to tickle the fancy of any Star Wars fan, young or old. This time around, the spotlight is on the underworld, as Star Wars Insider focuses on the crimelords, smugglers, freelancers, and other denizens of the galaxy who tread the middle ground between the light and the dark.

Rogues, Scoundrels, & Bounty Hunters pairs the absolutely stunning photography and film scenes from the franchise with topnotch articles— many penned by longtime writers and fans— about some of the most fascinating, lovable, and visually striking characters in the franchise. Covering everything from the Shadows of the Empire launch during the ’90s to fashion design (and combat!) in the Solo standalone film, the collection also features an interview with Harrison Ford, the time MTV righted the wrong of Chewie not receiving a medal at the end of A New Hope, and a loving tribute to Star Wars icon Brian Daley. Readers even get a real-life hunt for info on the actors who played the bounty hunters in The Empire Strikes Back!

True, it’s a little frustrating that, in the first half of the book, there aren’t publishing dates on many of the articles, so characters whose backstories evolved— like IG-88 and Boba Fett— are inconsistent as you read. But that’s a minor quibble for what is otherwise a delightful romp through the underworld of Star Wars.
