Raspberry Danish Murder
Hannah Swensen’s husband, Ross, has disappeared, and his assistant at KCOW-TV has been murdered by eating poisoned candy found in Ross’s desk at the station. But was the poisoned candy meant for Ross or P.K., and where is Ross? Hannah and her friends are dead set on finding out what happened and why. At the same time, Hannah and her sister, Michelle, are trying to keep up business at The Cookie Jar, the bakery owned by Hannah in Lake Eden, Minnesota.
While I like a good cozy mystery, Raspberry Danish Murder seemed long on baking and short on mystery. For me, there was simply too much space taken up with repetitive scenes testing new recipes. Those who like the culinary mystery genre will be happy to know that this book is filled with recipes mentioned inside. I only wish it had a little more mystery and suspense.
I did, however, enjoy the ending, which I hadn’t expected. Although this wasn’t my favorite cozy mystery, I would be willing to try another from the Hannah Swensen series.
