Pretty Minnie in Hollywood
Minnie is a white teacup Chihuahua who lives in Paris with his owner, Francoise, and her family. When Francoise’s mother has to take a trip to Hollywood, Minnie gets to come along! She loves sightseeing and swimming in the pool, but the best part is getting to visit the set of a movie studio. And when the movie dog won’t cooperate on film, Minnie is so excited to star in her very own movie!
Author Danielle Steel is best known for her romance novels, but her second foray into the world of Minnie the Chihuahua is sure to delight readers who loved the first! Pretty Minnie in Hollywood is a silly, cute book about a little dog’s adventures in a new city. Some readers, or perhaps their parents, may be bothered by the superficial nature of this story. Minnie seems to love being in the movie mostly because she gets pretty clothes and painted nails, but this is still a cute picture book and the illustrations by Kristi Valiant are undeniably adorable.
Chris Hayden has been working at City Book Review since 2012, so that makes him the keeper of knowledge. He manages the office and book reviewers (all 200 of them!), which is no small feat. If you’re looking at the book reviews here, you’re seeing them because he sent the books out for review. Without him, this place would fall apart, because no one else in the office knows how to use the postage machine. Two words: job security.
