Pies Glorious Pies: Mouth-watering Recipes for Delicious Pies
The pies in Pies Glorious Pies are categorized into four sections, those pies being everyday pies, posh pies, portable pies, and sweet pies. The proper equipment is mentioned first, followed by pie practicalities and techniques. The recipes for pie crusts and pastries are provided to be used with the pies that call for these specific crusts. There are also mouth-watering pictures of each pie to accompany their recipe. The recipes are mediocre, but some experience with cooking is required, especially if the reader is making the crust or pastries from scratch.
Sweet pies are ones that I am most familiar with and most look forward to eating any time of the day. However, I am also partial to a good chicken pot pie, granted I’m most used to the Banquet frozen ones from the store. I gave homemade a try, and it has its differences. I followed the given recipe, but it came out more liquidy than the frozen kind, making the crust on the inside soggy. It was still flavorful, but not my favorite version of this pie. Then I tried the Mississippi Mud pie; this one turned out very yummy and chocolatey tasting. I plan on trying more of the sweet pies.
