Pete the Cat’s Groovy Guide to Kindness
I love Pete the Cat, and so do my children. We had never read a Pete the Cat guide before, so my children and I were a little surprised that there was not a storyline, just quotes. I think this is an excellent book for a thought-of-the-day in a classroom or religious class. It would be a great Kindergarten graduation gift. It is an excellent book on teaching children ways to be kind. My six-year-old sat through the entire book, and my three-year-old became uninterested a few pages into the book.
My children’s favorite parts:
My six-year-old liked the page where Pete was wearing sunglasses sitting on a beach and says “Kind Cats are Cool cats.” He said that he liked the whole book.
My three-year-old liked the page where Pete is handing his friend a green cupcake and the friend is giving Pete a flower. She really enjoyed the pictures too. She did not like that there was not a storyline to the book, however I think the is book is aimed more towards Kindergarten-to-second-grade students or five-to-eight-year-olds.
