Pathfinder Tales: The Dagger of Trust
Gideon Gull is a student bard at the Rhapsodic College, learning how magic and performance can work together. But unbeknownst to many, he is also a student of the Shadow School, being trained as a spy and assassin for the nation of Taldor. When a mysterious fog with connections to Gideon’s past begins creating murderous mobs along the border of Taldor and Andoran, Gideon and a handful of other bards are sent to help solve the mystery. Can they discover the source of the fog before the two nations end up at war?
The Dagger of Trust is the newest addition to the Pathfinder Tales library. Set in the world of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, this stand-alone fantasy novel is more technical than some of the other Pathfinder stories I’ve read, discussing some of the ways in which bard magic works. But don’t let that be off-putting; you do not need to have any prior experience with the Pathfinder RPG to enjoy The Dagger of Trust. The story is entertaining, the characters are engaging, and plot twists and turns will keep you guessing until you finally learn the truth about the mysterious fog.
