Opening Belle is a snapshot of a working mother caught in the jungles of the financial world. The book is well written in crisp and pleasant language, keeping the reader engaged and hooked on to the world of Belle the books spunky heroine. Though the book, you will wonder why Belle puts up with her husband, wistfully hope that she actually finds love and makes more time for her three beautiful children, who occupy her heart and mind. Despite, Belle living an thriving in a hard and edgy world, you can relate to her maternal instincts, general sense of integrity and insecurities. The author does a great job of winning the reader’s empathy for Belle, relating to her and cheering her on, to the point you are almost crushed by the ending and yet, realize that the ending might be the beginning of more possibilities for Belle and an opportunity for a new start.
The book although slow at times, is still an engaging read and is the perfect book to pick up for a short vacation of flight.
